Forgotten Kids Of The Sand

desert-kids

Children of the sand and blood
Weaned on the teat of devastation
Hiding amongst decaying bodies
Limbs scattered across the caravans
On the weary road to democracy
Burnt offerings on Sabbath afternoons
Trickling briny droplets of desperation
Oil oozing from their open wounds
The desert kids scream out in silence
Drying their eyes on a desert sandstorm
While micturating into the Arabian wind
No one cares about you young ones
You’re children born of the desert sin
A pawn on the global chessboard
But have no fear my friend
Bombs are coming to drill for oil
And displace you once again

Nighttime glows in flash of fire
Strobe light oracles of destruction
Lighting the way so they can kneel
Praying East ward for a better day
But explosions topple any serenity
While the generals smile and take a bow
Their bombs roaring thunderous applause
A child looks up and cries as shrapnel flies
With sand caked orbs the children weep
Naked and alone in the ravaged street
Without a scrap of food to eat
Because no one cares of your plight
Just a casualty in an endless fight
Children don’t equate to profits
But they absorb the sorrows of prophets
Warning that arrows of aggression fly
Burning throughout the nighttime sky
Winds blow hopeless in glassless window panes
Acid rains
Buzzing drones replace the stars overhead
Missiles drill deep for Sultans tallow
Scaring the bones down to the marrow
But we can’t hear the child who cries
We’re to busy purchasing lies

The desert carpet smolders with smoke
Singing the children’s lungs, making them choke
They can’t even flee the ruins created by uncivil unions
Surrounded by uniforms of atrocity and hate
Charred remains of civilization
The dismantling of an entire nation
The memories shiver and hide the guilt
The lambs left to graze in crimson silt
The generals try hard to forget the horrors they have seen
Because if they remember
They’ll be forced to hang their heads in shame
Never be able to wage war again
Nor order one more devastating attack
So they just turn their backs
Pray their souls up to the skies
So we can all shut our eyes
Not look at the abhorrent assault
And pretend the plight of the desert kids
Is really not our fault
Don’t just be anti-war, be pro-peace.. Live and Love in Peace

Ghosts of Wars

ghosts

The ghosts of war don’t only lie dead on the battlefield, they live in the hearts and minds of those we lead into war and send back home wounded mentally, emotionally and physically, and the destruction of families and towns we leave behind. The young children and fatherless families whose homes are in ruins, the ones we claimed to liberate but actually left orphaned by war. The women and men we send to fight the wars then forget about once they‘re home. Is it truly a victory when we see towns, cities, and families left in a world of bombed out destruction then ease our conscience saying we liberated them? They aren’t free, they’re devastated by monumental loss. You can’t bomb and kill for someone else’s freedom if your not willing to acknowledge and become accountable for the horror left in the wake. War is easy, costly but easy. Peace takes far more work but the outcome is far more rewarding. Don’t be anti-war, be pro-peace…..

Haunting blackness creeps amidst the home of the brave

Umbra’s of guilt and remorse obscuring many a lost heart

Bodies and appendages in blood-soaked jigsaw explosions

Troubled back at home worlds of survivors fall torn apart

Sent back whence they came like last weeks bad news

Shoved into halls of healing or lost attics to gather dust

Damaged oxide soldiers left to battle out in the street

Out so long in the rain their like the Tin Man they rust

Raison d’etre drowns in murky waters of battle

Perhaps the fortunate never return to burning scorn

Of the people they promised to lay life on the line

Who scoff while memories and souls are morbidly forlorn

The deaths of men and women sent into paths of destruction

Commune as the phantom civilians called collateral damage

War has no preference of whom shall own their sorrow

Nor who shall suffer from it’s murderous mismanage

Over the devastated fields of meaningless victories

The generals fragile smile glistened in the sunlight

But whenever the sun shines over innocence lost

Shadows of darkness are cast beyond the light

The defiant officer could sense his oncoming penance

Knowing one day his hollow smile destined nevermore

Chimeras and wraiths will gather in a punishing storm

Then he’ll lay beseeched amongst the ghosts of his war

Sorrow fills the cracks of the Generals once armored conscience

The strategic leader questioning his role of insanity

His legacy will be written in the blood of his martyrs

His guilt etched into his crimes of war and humanity

Then faceless apparitions will stand shoulder to shoulder

Held up by their loved ones grief both intense and internal

Past the homeless and misplaced wraiths of his mongering

The general alone to face his amassing guilt eternal

And the dark shadow from the caves and fields of his horrors

Fell across the floor and the walls of his now lonely room

A silhouette dangling from the rope of a misplaced destiny

A fitting end to the machines in which he created such doom

And the people will shake their heads and stare at the floor

When one takes their own life for the ghosts of their war

Just one more of many deaths to parade across the news
So many young ones died for Nielson ratings and reviews
A grisly war played out on screens all across the TV nation
To prove they care they give the maimed a purple commendation
Too many of our children harmed, too many now deceased
While oil and giant businesses continue getting greased

Does it matter

We need to stop the killing and fighting war is just insane
Finding peace solutions seems like what we should obtain
As humans keep on dying for the power and the oil
The annihilation of our planet seems to figure in it all
We have to make them listen to the peaceful rants and raves
Or the place of all our residence will be dead and in our graves

I long for the day when every nation declares peace on every other nation. You may say that I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one. I hope some day you’ll join us, and the world will live as one. Thank you John Lennon, there are some who still strive to keep your dream alive…..Imagine That! PEACE
